Sangam is a symbol of unity, love, sacrifice and penance, cherish it
On the sands of Sangam, in the form of invisible Saraswati, the religious leaders are making the world community drink the Saraswati of knowledge. Among the saints, Jyotishpeethadhiswar Swami Avimukteshwarananda made headlines with his outspoken opinion on many issues in the Maha Kumbh. He also took important decisions on many issues through Paramdharma Sansad. Only time will tell how much of these will be implemented. Anup Ojha talked to him on various aspects related to

What is Kumbh, and in what form will Kumbh be expressed in Indian culture?
Actually Kumbh is called Kalash. Kumbh is a symbol of completeness. There are two types of Kumbhs. One empty and one full. We are all empty. This is because there are many desires in the Kumbh of our heart. When there is completeness within us, then we do not need anything. The Kumbh placed at Sangam is full of infinite elements. By taking a dip in it, spirituality is absorbed.
It is being said that after 144 years, in a rare coincidence, the world's biggest cultural event is being organized on the banks of Sangam. What is your opinion on this?
Such announcements are not appropriate. Maha Kumbh comes after 12 years. Sometimes Kumbh takes place even after 11 years.
When it was officially said that Kumbh is being held after 144 years, then I had told the Mela administration verbally and in writing that Kumbh is not linked to numbers. Because Kumbh is held due to the conjunction of date and planets. Actually, if you see the gazetteer of Prayag, you will know when the last Kumbh was held.
Kumbha takes place in the month of Magha according to the dates. It is not fair to apply English dates in this.
You have always been experimenting with new things. Is there any experiment in this Kumbh as well?
We have done many experiments. We have organized Paramdharma Sansad. Dharmdishas have been passed on many subjects. We will publish them and send them to every Sanatani's home. This will be the message of Maha Kumbh. Since ancient times, there has been a rule that when religious people used to gather here, they used to announce the policy for 12 years. This time we have prepared Kumbh Parv Sandesh. We will take it to the people through Shankaracharya Dharmdoot.
You gave a message through Goraksha Yagna, what message would you like to give to the world community?
See, our message is that do not divide, stay united. But how will we stay united? There should be an excuse to stay united. We do not have any bouquet in which all people can unite. We saw that in Sanatan Dharma, we have cow as our mother. Bharat Mata is discussed, but her method of worship is not found. Cow is the mother of every Hindu. People of the world community should come forward to protect cow. Cow should be designated as the world mother. If this happens, then the crises hovering like clouds will go away and prosperity will come to the world.
How do you see the glory and power of Sangam?
Two streams meet at Sangam. The holy flow of two rivers connects everyone. Prayag is the place where Ganga-
This is the confluence of the river Yamuna. This confluence is a symbol of our unity, love, sacrifice, penance and resolutions. This land has also been praised in the Vedas and scriptures.
Are you in favor of forming Sanatan Board or dissolving the Waqf Board?
We have nothing to do with the Wakf Board. Those who have formed the Wakf Board should know what their views are on this. Regarding the Sanatan Board, I also say that just because there is a Wakf Board, we are not in favour of forming a Sanatan Board. If there is a need to form a centralized policy for the operation of our religious institutions, then we should work on it. If any government comes again, it will start making amendments in the Sanatan Board as well. Nothing should be done without understanding this matter. We have formed the Sanatan Conservation Council. Only the religious leaders should formulate a policy for the protection of Sanatan

Who do you hold responsible for the Maha Kumbh accident, could such an incident have been avoided?
The accident that happened on Mauni Amavasya could have been avoided. When it was known beforehand that we had only this much space, why were proper arrangements not made beforehand. It is unfair to say that stampedes used to happen before and have happened now too. A responsible person saying that no accident happened at Sangam, don't pay heed to rumours. I believe that there was a lapse somewhere in our system. This should be reviewed. It would also be wrong to keep this incident pending in the name of an inquiry committee.
