At the official G20 gala dinner, which was hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, the world leaders and delegates were treated to unique Indian delicacies as the first day of the G20 Summit was drawing to a close.

The Heads of State and other world pioneers were blessed to receive an exceptional feasting experience, with dinners served on silver and gold-plated utensils, displaying looks at India's rich culture and legacy.

An introduction to how "taste" connects to India's diversity is included at the beginning of the menu. Taste connects us," the menu stated. "Bharat is diverse in many ways, a medley of traditions, customs, and climate."

Millets are also given a special mention on the menu, explaining their nutritional and agricultural benefits.

The following items were served at the G20 dinner:

Starters   

Paatram: Crispy millet leaf of foxtail, topped with a yogurt ball and spiced chutney.

Main Course

Vanavarnam: A jackfruit galette is served with curry leaf-tossed Kerala red rice, Little Millet Crisp, and glazed forest mushrooms.

Indian Breads 

Mumbai Pao: Onion seed-flavoured soft bun

Bakarkhani: Cardamom-flavoured sweet flatbread

Dessert

Madhurima ‘Pot of gold’: Cardamom scented Barnyard millet pudding, fig-peach compote and Ambemohar rice crisps

Beverages

Kashmiri Kahwa, Filter Coffee and Darjeeling Tea
