Within 24 hours of the indictment, former US President Trump raises more than $4 million.

After a Manhattan grand jury indicted the former US President on charges related to paying off a porn star, Donald Trump's office reported that the former president raised over $4 million for his 2024 presidential campaign in just 24 hours.

Over 25% of donations to the Trump Campaign came from first-time donors, according to the former president's campaign, confirming his position as the clear front-runner in the Republican primary.

It said in a statement on Friday, "This incredible surge of grassroots contributions confirms that the American people view the indictment of President Trump as a disgraceful weaponization of our justice system by a Soros-funded prosecutor."

It stated, "With an average contribution of only $34, an unmatched coalition of hardworking patriots who are fed up with special interest donors like Soros spending billions of dollars to influence our elections is funding President Trump's 2024 campaign."

The statement stated that within the first five hours of the "sham indictment," Americans from every state contributed to Trump's campaign.

On Thursday, a Republican grand jury decided to indict Trump for paying adult film star Stormy Daniels money to silence her about an alleged affair. On Tuesday, Trump, the first former president of the United States to be charged with a crime, will be arraigned.
