From 1.34 million in 2017 to 1.92 million in 2023, enrollment in UP government schools rises.
The "School Chalo" campaign's success, according to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath, is demonstrated by the fact that student enrollment in UP government schools increased from 1.34 crore in 2017 to 1.92 crore in 2023.
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, proudly announced on Saturday that his administration's "School Chalo" campaign has been a huge success, as the number of students enrolled in state-run schools has increased from 1.34 crore in 2017 to 1.92 crore in 2023.
The month-long campaign, which has been going on since 2017, aims to have 100% of the state's students enroll in primary and upper primary schools.
Adityanath urged parents to send their children to school, stressing that his administration has improved education infrastructure and that schools in the state previously lacked essential amenities prior to the BJP's 2017 election victory.
During the launch of this year's campaign, the CM stated, "It is our responsibility to ensure that not a single child is deprived of school learning and not a child falls prey to a communicable disease."
Adityanath also started a campaign to prevent communicable diseases and urged parents to get their kids ready for school because the state can only reach a 100% literacy rate if every child goes to school.
As per Adityanath, the moves made by the BJP government throughout the course of recent years have shown brings about each field, and the headway made in the training area is obvious.
The "School Chalo" crusade has effectively covered 1.36 lakh schools out of a sum of 1.56 lakh and gave them fundamental conveniences, shrewd classes, and different offices under Activity Kayakalp, he said. The remaining 20,000 educational institutions are also being considered.
The fact that 1.60 lakh teachers were hired in basic and secondary education alone, according to the CM, indicates that there had previously been a teacher shortage.
He also suggested creating a database to look at the population of village panchayats and their various social and economic backgrounds, such as the number of children in each family and the number of students enrolled in school.
Adityanath suggested that the Basic Education Council create a portal for this and collect information from every school.
