IPL 2024: Here is the complete list of captains of all 10 teams
The BCCI revealed the 21-match, 10-city schedule for the first two weeks of the 2024 Indian Premier League. After the dates of the next general elections are made public, the schedule for the remaining games will be disclosed. Chennai Super Kings:
MS Dhoni-In the 2021 season, Dhoni guided the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their fourth IPL championship. Dhoni guided the squad to two titles (2010 & 2011) and four runner-up positions over the first eight editions.
Delhi Capitals:
David Warner- In 2009, Warner began playing in the Indian Premier League with the Delhi team. With 5449 runs scored over the years, Warner ranks seventh in IPL history in terms of run total. Warner and Sunrisers Hyderabad took home the IPL championship.
Gujarat Titans:
Shubhman Gill-Shubhman received recognition for his important role in the 2018 World Cup triumph of India U19. After being acquired by KKR in 2018, Gill contributed well both in his season debut and the next year. Gill was released by KKR ahead of the 2022 Tata IPL auction, despite his outstanding performances. During the auction, Gujarat Titans seized the chance and added Gill to their list.
Kolkata Knight Riders:
Shreyas Iyer In their largest-ever auction bid, KKR offered an astounding Rs 12.25 crore to get Shreyas Iyer's services. After they were acquired, Shreyas Iyer became the KKR captain. The team is hoping to win the championship under Shreyas Iyer's captaincy, especially after placing second in the 2021 campaign.
Lucknow Super Giants:
KL Rahul resigned as captain of the Punjab Kings and was given the captaincy by LSG. With runs totals of 626, 670, 593, and 659 in the last four seasons, KL Rahul has amassed over 3200 IPL runs.
Mumbai Indians:
Hardik Pandya-Pandya will lead the Mumbai Indians in the 2024 Indian Premier League(IPL) as captain. The leadership of Rohit Sharma has ended with the appointment of a new captain.
Punjab Kings:
Shikhar Dhawan- For the Tata IPL 2022 season, Shikhar Dhawan joined to Punjab Kings (PBKS) after playing for the Delhi Capitals. Dhawan is the second-highest run-scorer in IPL history with 5784 runs.
Rajasthan Royals:
Sanju Samson-Samson rejoined the Rajasthan Royals after a brief stint with the Delhi Daredevils (now the Delhi Capitals) in 2016. In IPL 2019 and IPL 2020, the wicketkeeper-batsman demonstrated consistency by amassing 342 runs and 375 runs, respectively. Samson was given the captaincy for the 2021 season. Samson wants to do better in his second season leading the team.
Royal Challengers Bangalore:
Faf du Plessis Last year, Virat Kohli announced that Faf du Plessis would be the RCB's new captain, ushering in a new era of team leadership. Du Plessis's IPL career began with CSK.
Sunrisers Hyderabad:
In 2021, Aiden Markram became a member of PBKS. He made six appearances for PBKS in the 2021 Indian Premier League and amassed 146 runs.
