Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was threatened and a Rs 50 lakh ransom demand was made to the Bandra police station last week. Following the actor's accusation, an extortion lawsuit was launched.

Faizan Khan had previously stated that he would visit Mumbai on November 14 in order to provide the Bandra police with his statement. But after receiving numerous threats in the last two days, he wrote to the Mumbai Police Commissioner to ask that his statement be recorded online, fearing his safety.

The 'Jawan' actor was threatened after Salman Khan was threatened before, purportedly by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

After the Bandra police station received the threat SMS last week, an extortion complaint was filed. Police discovered that the actor had received a threat call from a phone number registered in Faizan Khan's name throughout the course of the investigation.

When a Mumbai police team visited Raipur, they brought Faizan in for questioning. But on November 2, Faizan told the police that he had misplaced his phone. Reporters were informed by Faizan that the threat call from his number was a part of a conspiracy to harm him.

Faizan further stated that he was being set up for the complaint he had made against Shah Rukh Khan at the Bandra police station for inciting animosity between two religious groups.

In the 1993 movie "Anjaam," he claimed, Khan slaughtered a deer and instructed his employees to cook and consume it. Faizan also claimed that the actor has ties to terrorist organisations in a YouTube video.

"I hail from Rajasthan. The Rajasthani Bishnoi community includes my buddy. They have a religious duty to protect deer. Consequently, a Muslim cannot say something like this regarding deer.

As a result, I objected," Faizan told reporters.

The actor was placed under Y+ level security after receiving a death threat in October of last year.
